Old German Laminate Bass

Post by basscat85 » Thu Oct 16, 2014 7:51 pm

I have for sale a nice German laminate bass. Unsure of the exact age, but its pretty old - Im guessing from the 50's-60's. It has a maple veneer top which you don't see very often. The back of the bass is a roundback, but the top 1/4 of the back has what I call a "fold" line and from there up to the neck joint is flat. I just done a setup on this bass which includes a new tall adjustable bridge, new d'addario helicore hybrids, fingerboard dressing, and a new tailpiece cable. It has a nice high neck angle. Action is setup medium but can be lowered or raised to preference. The G & D strings have a nice solid thump and the A & E are deep & growly more like a carved bass. The bass is solid as a rock, no breaks, nice thick rosewood fingerboard. Its actually a little bit browner in color in person, my camera made it look slightly blonder in apprearance. I'm asking $2000 - located near Louisville, KY - my cell is 606-875-4550 - call/leave a message. Anyone who knows me knows that I only deal with good basses and this one is a dandy!

I would possibly trade to a Peavey USA Cirrus 5 String preferably with a maple f-board like pictured below.
