Old dog back in the hood!!

Post by Basshawg » Sun Mar 17, 2019 4:50 pm

Hi friends old and new. It's been a long time. Been busy raising kids, working, and taking care of my parent(s). I am still playing. Currently not in a bluegrass band, but playing in church, and occasionally helping other bluegrass bands. I recently was asked to join a jazz band, and am excited towards the prospect. I have missed my bass family and am looking forward to reconnecting again!

Well, we're gonna have to show how much fun we can have. So who (from our bluegrassbassplace gang) is still playing? I see cathead is a professional photographer!! Winraux is a song writing beast. I am still working , but am of retirement age.

Well, I'm still playing. Keeping a little too busy, playing with two bands regularly, and working too. But somehow poorer than ever.

I'm still playing, but gigs seem to be drying up the last year or 2. Last March, our band almost bought the farm from Carbon Monoxide. The generator exhaust came loose in the bay of the bus. Long story, but our fiddle player had a stroke from it and still has memory problems and I tore up my one good knee! Having replacement #1 in June, #2 in November hopefully, and retiring next summer if the Lord's willing.

Ken, good to hear from ya!! My news is purdy good. My old bluegrass band is now back together!! A little rusty, but it's coming together nicely. I have stayed busy playing in church. Recently, I got asked to join a jazz band, now I am in three bands!!! Who'da a thunk it!!!
